About Mahalakshmi temple
Mahalakshmi Temple is
situated at Bhalubai Desai road in Mahalakshmi. Temple is dedicated to the
central deity of Devi Mahatmyam the Mahalakshmi. The Temple was built by a
Hindu Merchant Dhakji Dadaji in the year 1831. With the building of Hornby
Vellard the temple is connected. There are images of goddesses Mahalakshmi,
Mahakali and Mahasaraswati in the temple. Necklace, Gold bangles and nose rings
are adorned on the images of all the three goddesses. There are many stalls
outside the temple people selling flowers, coconuts, etc... During Navratri
festival the Mahalakshmi temple is fully decorated with flowers.
